Accessibility
This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 level AA.
This page says what’s been tested and what hasn’t, and the known exceptions.
And who to tell when something doesn’t work for you.
The target
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2, level AA.
Made Digital’s a private company.
So the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 don’t require it to publish a statement.
I publish one so that the standard the site’s built to can be checked.
What has been tested, and how
I check every page as it’s made.
With JavaScript off, so that it reads and works as a plain document. At 390 and 1440 pixels wide. With the keyboard alone.
And with text contrast measured by code against the AA ratios.
The film that opens the homepage is silent, and carries nothing that isn’t also written on the page.
It holds still when reduced motion is on.
The full pass, 13 September 2026
Every page, twenty of them, was tested with axe-core 4.12 against the WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules.
At 390 and 1440 pixels wide, with the cookie sheet open and again with it closed.
Result: no failures.
The same pages were then walked with the keyboard alone.
The skip link is the first stop and lands on the content. Every stop has a visible focus. Nothing traps.
The menu opens from the keyboard, closes on Escape and hands focus back. The cookie sheet can be answered from the keyboard.
Every page has one heading at the top level and no skipped level, and the landmarks a screen reader steers by.
Every form control has a name.
Result: no failures.
On those checks the site conforms to WCAG 2.2 level AA, with the exceptions below.
The one check still to do is a read of every page with a screen reader, by a person.
The automated pass covers the names, roles and structure a screen reader relies on.
This page will carry the result of the read when it’s done.
Both tests are scripts kept with the site, and they run again before anything changes on it.
Known exceptions
The film on the homepage and the part of the homepage that moves as you scroll are decorative.
With reduced motion on in your device settings, neither moves.
With JavaScript off the film doesn’t play and the page is complete without it.
Payment happens on Stripe’s own pages, which are Stripe’s to make accessible.
The pages on this site that lead to them are covered by this statement.
