A free website review: find out which of the eight things your site is missing.

A website audit done by hand.

I open your site on a phone the way a customer would, and email you what’s missing and what I’d fix first.

Send me your website 07375 347 947

Every website’s built from the same eight things, and almost no site fails all eight at once.

Run yours down the list below on your phone, then send me the address. I’ll go through it myself and email you back.

The eight-check

Open your site on your phone and work down the list.

Answer each one yes or no, and be harder on it than you want to be.

  1. The photograph

Is the first picture of your actual work, or a stock photo?

    The photograph: yes or no
  2. The first sentence

Does it say what you do, in the words a stranger would type?

Or does it say “Welcome to our website”?

The first sentence: yes or no
  3. The proof

Is there a real customer’s review on the page, with a name, in their words?

    The proof: yes or no
  4. The one action

Is there one obvious thing to press, or five competing for the same thumb?

And can you reach it without shifting your grip?

The one action: yes or no

Tick as you go. Three noes and you’ve got your answer.

  1. A page for each service

Does every service have a page of its own, or is one page attempting all of them?

People search for the service, not the company name.

A page for each service: yes or no
  2. How fast it opens

Open it on mobile data rather than wifi, the way a customer would, and count.

If you’re waiting, so are they, and they’ve got somewhere else to be.

How fast it opens: yes or no
  3. The listing that sends the calls

Search your own business name. Does the Google listing point at your site?

And do the two agree on the hours, the services and the address?

The listing that sends the calls: yes or no
  4. The small print

Scroll to the very bottom. Privacy, cookies, terms, accessibility: are they there?

And do they describe what the site actually does, or somebody else’s?

The small print: yes or no

I go through the site myself, against the same eight, and email you what’s missing and what I’d fix first.

No sales call unless you ask for one.

Before you send it

Is the website review really free?

Yes. No charge, nothing to sign, and no obligation at the end of it.

If you want the fixes made, that’s a separate conversation with its own price.

What do you look at?

The same eight above, on your site as a stranger meets it: on a phone, from a search, knowing nothing about you.

I write down what’s there, what isn’t, and which one I’d fix first.

Do I need a website to ask?

No. Leave the website box empty and tell me what the business does.

The review becomes a short note on what a first site would need to carry, and whether you need one at all.

Any other question, I’ll answer on the phone or in the review itself. 07375 347 947

Send me your website.

You get a written reply from me, by email, with what I found.

Which website shall I look at?

What does the business do?

Where shall I reply?

A number or an email is enough. You don’t need both.

I read every one myself and reply personally.

I’ll only use these details to reply to you. Privacy notice.
